Our Story
X-treme Gymnastics was founded in September of 2003 by Jill and Mario Santoro. Prior to X-treme Gymnastics, Jill coached at several local gyms, including the Brook Park Recreation Center and the Southland YWCA, where she lead the gymnastics programs and competitive team. After some time, the Southland YWCA closed its doors for good and, in turn, left several disappointed gymnasts with no where to practice. In that group of girls included Jill and Mario's four young daughters. Jill, whose drive and motivation to keep the girls in the sport and keep the team going, approached Mario with the idea of opening a gym of their own. It was their dream of theirs to some day run their own business, but it was Jill's desire to pursue it in gymnastics education. They found a location in Middleburg Heights, Ohio and put their family to work getting this site cleaned, painted and put together before the grand opening. With the help of some friends, including the Brook Park Recreation Director, Gary Marken, we were able to gather leads for new students interested in learning gymnastics. From then on, X-treme Gymnastics was off and tumbling!
We are a USAG Member Club dedicated to teaching the proper techniques of gymnastics, following the updated National USA Gymnastics guidelines. We teach uneven bars, balance beam, floor exercise, and vault to our students with an emphasis on safety and the disciplines of the sport. We also have tumbling classes for those who solely want to learn and/or improve on their tumbling skills, whether for cheerleading or just for fun. Our staff is made up of USAG Professional Members, CPR Certified and Safety Certified coaches who have a strong ambition to coach and instruct children of all ages the proper techniques of gymnastics as well as valuable life lessons.
